I attended 4-H Aerospace Camp last Thursday, in Madisonville KY. IT WAS AMAZING!!!!! Usually it's a two to three day camp but because so many students signed up, they had to make it one day. I guess that's a good problem to have! :D
Instead of writing out a whole bunch of commentary, I'll just tell the story in pictures and include a few captions. A picture is worth a thousand words anyway, right?
After orientation and a brief lesson on plane navigation at the Madisonville elementary school, we went to the Madisonville Municipal Airport.
I can't remember his name... but 'the guy in the orange shirt' is an Air Traffic Controller (ATC), he works at the Cincinnati airport in OH. He talked to us about everything that goes on at an airport and in the air! It was so neat! There's so much work that goes into controlling air traffic!

It's so cool that I understand this. :D
Brochures, wooden airplane, pen and pencil. What more do you need? Oh yeah, I got a t.shirt, too! :D
Mr. Saylor telling us about twin engine planes and how much more difficult they are to learn to fly than single engine planes.
One Cessna taking off and another waiting it's turn to taxi out onto the runway.
Mom taking a picture of me taking a picture :D
We got to peek inside the twin engine plane. It had a lot more controls than a single engine plane!
Mr. Pearson was there taking photos, it was great to see him again! It's always nice when you're not the only photographer ;D
The planes in Hangar B
The signs on Hangar B :)
The only other girl in my group was nervous about going up in a plane, but absolutely loved it. =) That's her flying up there. :D
Radio and computer at the front desk in the airport
Cessnas waiting to be flown
Dad taking pictures of the twin engine Cessna :D He got some really cool shots!
Laiken and me (the only girls in our group;) We had so much fun! We parted, saying "See you next year!!"
Keep your eyes open for part three and four! Aerial photos next!
