Happy Birthday, DaddyMan! :) I love you more than words can say. I'm so blessed to have you as my father. <3 I'm thankful the Lord has given you 50 years to bless and be blessed. May He give you fifty more!

Twelve Twelve Twelve

Today is a special day! It is the last triple number date we will see in our lifetime! That is unless we live to an exceptionally old age. If you haven't figured it out by now, It's 12/12/12! This date will not be seen again in a hundred years! Last year we had another exciting date, too - 11/11/11! If you'd like to see my eleven eleven eleven posts, they're in my archive here (top two results.)

I decided, for this special occasion, to mention twelve things I'm thankful for. So here goes! :)

I'm thankful for......

I.)  Salvation

Thank you Lord!

II.)  Scripture

I'm thankful to have been taught at a young age, the importance of reading God's Word and forever keeping it in my heart and mind

III.)    Friends...

...and family.

IV.)   ♪ Music

I love to play music...

...and listen to music!

V.)  Books

  I love
           books! :D

VI.)    Cats

I've loved kitties ever since I was very small :)

VII.)  A Home

Everywhere we've been, we've been blessed with a wonderful home.

VIII.)    Duct Tape

"Duct Tape is like the Force.
It has a dark side, a light side,
and it holds the universe together."

what would we do without it??!

IX.)   Laughter

Laughter is the best thing in the whole world :D

X.)   My Camera!

^^^ My very first camera :)

XI.)  The Time We Had With Elle

Our little family dog, Elle, got hit by a car a couple weeks ago. We are still grieving deeply, but are extremely thankful for the time we had with her.
 We miss you, Elle

XII.)    Christmas Lights!

They're fun to put up...

...fun to wear...

...and definitely fun to look at.

I'm thankful for much more than just these twelve, of course, but these are a few special things that came to mind. :)

Blessings!!

A Happy, Happy New Year

2012 is off to a good start! :) Here are a few highlights of today's activities.

After a wonderful time of worship at my grandparent's church, we drove home the 'back way' and they showed us their library ♥ and a few other places.

The "Whiz Kid" statue near the library entrance. I loved it!

I've always loved my grandmother's decorations. They've been to so many places and have  such unique souvenirs, paintings/drawings, decorations, etc.! - mostly from England, Germany and Switzerland I believe.

I love Gram's thimble collection! This picture does not do it justice.

My dad wanted photos of all the watercolor paintings, so I went around the house and took pictures of everything. :) Typical Emily. (this time I had an excuse)

I love their magnet collection, also. Guess which one is my favorite of these three!! xD TARDIS!!!

This is a quote from my great grandfather, Papa Taylor. :)

Playing Zonk with dad and BigDaddy! So much fun! :D

I've had a blast in Florida. I wish we could stay much longer!!

Blessings!!

We shouldn't save all our thankfulness for Thanksgiving only... every moment of our lives we should give thanks to God for everything He has blessed us with!

I thank God for ma famille. I love them so much!

Today is my paternal grandpa's birthday! Happy birthday BigDaddy!! I love and miss you!!

My expression in this picture absolutely cracks me up. xD Isn't it hilarious?? lol!!

Birthday Tea~

Last Saturday we had a Birthday Tea for my grandmother! It was so much fun. :) My Aunt T. and cousin Katy came up from TN and we girls (me, my mom, aunt, cousin and grammy) put it all together. We invited my grandmother's special friends from church, and many who my mom and aunt had known through their childhood years.

My cousin and I are both huge shutterbugs... we had a complete blast taking pictures before, during and after the event. :D

Here are a few of my favorite pictures!

My aunt is a graphic designer (♥); she made the invitations for the party. They were beautiful!

My cousin and I frequently got distracted while we were setting up the day before. ;) I loved the afternoon sun coming through the West windows! I thought the vases were very pretty.

This is one of the many roses that were on the tables.

Everything looked SO pretty! The party was beautiful. We made little rosebuds out of two Hershey's Kisses wrapped in red cellophane on a stick for each place setting.

oh my GOODNESS! the food table was gorgeous! Everything from a good ol' veggie tray, fruit, cheese and crackers and cucumber sandwiches to biscotti's, mini cupcakes and pumpkin cheesecake squares. *squeal*

My cousin and I made rainbow cupcakes (sooo fun!!) and I made icing roses for the top of them. It was so fun! :D ..Until I got to the thirtieth rose and still had twenty to go..... ;)

Everyone enjoyed the party. They laughed, chatted and spoke of the good ol' days. Oh, and they drank tea. :) Except.... for someone who left the only tea she liked... at home. *facepalm* That'd be me. o__o

This picture is of everyone watching a lovely slideshow my mom and I compiled of tons of photos from over the years. The particular picture shown on the screen in this photo, is of my grandmother (center) with my mom (left) and aunt (right). Aren't they cute?? :D

This is my wonderful Grammy! ♥ I love you so much! I'm so glad we had the opportunity to celebrate with you. :)

Here we are! L to R: Me, Mom, Grammy, Aunt T. and Katy. :)

I like this picture. It's Katy taking a picture of my mom and aunt with two of their childhood friends - with one of their cameras. :D

I hope you enjoyed the pictures! I might post a few more later on. It was a very fun time and a huge blessing. Special thanks to Susie for helping set up, take down and for keeping us laughing and smiling! You are so sweet!

Soli Deo Gloria!
