Doorknob

Alice: I simply must get through!
Doorknob: Sorry, you're much too big. Simply impassible.
Alice: You mean impossible?
Doorknob: No, impassible. Nothing's impossible.

Doorknob: Read the directions and directly you will be directed in the right direction.

Remembrance

One year ago, today, I became a child of God. \o/ God had been calling me softly and tenderly to Himself for five years, then saved my soul on February 27th 2011. Praise the Lord!! =D I thought as a special blog post I'd share some pictures from my baptism which took place on March 27th 2011, one month after the Lord saved me. <3

Two very special friends came!! I was so happy they got to come!! =D

My grandfather praying for me

He prayed over me when I was born that Christ would save me, then he got to pray over me at my baptism thanking the Lord for answering his prayer \o/

Amen and amen!!

I was so happy to be baptized by my dear friend and pastor J.D. Graham. :)

I was so glad that some of my friends and family could come, it was very special! Thank you to everyone who has been praying for me since I was born and who continue to pray for me now. I love you guys. <3

I thank God for His saving grace and mercy towards me. Without Him I would have no hope!! Psalm 40.16-17. He is my Only Hope. <3

I love you Lord.

 Blessings!!

Dirty

Our little puppy, Elle, loves to dig. Especially in the nice soft soil in plant-less hanging baskets sitting on our deck! ;D

Poetry

One of my recent assignments was to write a short free-verse (nonrhythmic) poem. I got to pick the topic. =)

I thought I'd share it with you, so here it is! :) I hope you like it as much as I do.

A poetry contest came up in our County and I decided to enter my poem. Much to my extreme surprise... I found out the next week that I had won! So exciting! =D

The contest required a minimum of eight lines, so I had to add two to my poem. I've italicized the added lines below.

BEST FRIEND
by: Emily Hendrix

Bright red hair, in the sun,
Reflecting the light inside her.
Her joyful spirit makes me glad,
when she laughs, I laugh too.

Lots of time making memories,
Chatting, laughing, having a blast.
Near or far, always there
making me smile, is my best friend.

Blessings!!
~Emily

Unerasable Love

For God so loved the world,
that he gave his only begotten Son,
that whosoever believeth in him
should not perish, but have everlasting life.
John 3.16

I encourage you to read the whole chapter of John 3, it has great Truth.

Best Experience Ever

So the lead singer of your MOST FAVORITE BAND EVER trips over your camera bag. Not something that happens every day.

Yes... my favorite band's lead singer tripped over my camera bag. x-) He walked through the crowd at one point in the concert - right next to us! hehehe. When he stumbled over my camera bag my telephoto lens rolled out! ;D But do not be alarmed, for it was not harmed (thanks to my mom who noticed it and put it back in my bag before it got trampled and lost in the crowd;)

So, on December 7th 2011, I had the fantastic opportunity of riding with my parents and four extremely fun people: Mrs. S., Aaron S. and Clay and Evan W.; to Nashville Tennessee for a Switchfoot concert!!!

Oh my GOODNESS it was so exciting!!!!!! They put on a SPECTACULAR show. They really did! They all sounded wonderful on stage. Not all music artists sound great live! ;D Switchfoot.... did.

I know some of you are not Switchfoot fans... and that's okay. There are things you like that I don't. We're all different! But I do ask you to look through the pictures I took at the concert and let me know what you think. I was extremely excited with the way most of them turned out! I certainly wouldn't mind any concert photography suggestions you might have!

Here are a few of my favorites. :)

I like shots like this. =)

Lights + Mist + Jon Foreman = pretty cool picture.

Kind of a cool shot.

 ...and the crowd goes wild!

I was super excited about the quality of this one, telephoto lens and all. It's so clear!

I couldn't decide between this one and the one prior. Which one do you like best between the two? I kinda like the purple in the second one.

 He. Walked. Right. By. Us.

Everyone pulled out their phones after he got back on stage. xD ...excccccept for those of us without phones of course. ;)

Jon Foreman and Tim Foreman have such contagious smiles!!! They are both really kind and personable.

I loved the lights. They were fantastic and really made some of the pictures.

 Silhouettes are so fun.

 The strobe lights were awesome.

The grand finale.

Left to right: Tim Foreman, Chad Butler, Jon Foreman, Jerome Fontamillas and Drew Shirley.

It really was the best concert experience I've ever had. I hope to see them again! I was disappointed they didn't have an aftershow..... really disappointed. =P But I was so happy to BE there, the disappointment wore off rather quickly. ;) I took my guitar for Jon Foreman to sign - that would have been so. very. awesome. And my autograph book, and Switchfoot t.shirt, and concert ticket, and, and... Oh well. :)

My complete Switchfoot concert album will be available soon! I had fun taking the pictures, I hope you enjoyed looking at them just as much! =) Let me know what you think of them!

Soli Deo Gloria!
