We've moved!! =) As you can imagine, we've been extremely busy for the last month. My apologies to my pen-pals and blog commenters for my delayed responses, hopefully life will settle down into it's normal routine soon. :)

Update

Hey followers! I've changed a few things on my blog... just thought I'd point them out.

1) I've created a "favorite blogs" page (check it out!) and removed the blog links from the sidebar.

2) I've added a poll to my sidebar - please vote!

A few things to note..
   I am almost finished with my "about me" page titled Me and My Gear... it should be finished shortly. My portfolio is almost finished as well! :) 

   I am thinking about changing the look of my blog... what do you think of a black/dark colors theme? Feel free to comment with ideas!

Scavenger Hunt Sunday - 10.30

Here are my interpretations this week!

1. Close up

 My kitties love getting "close up." :)

2. Found Texture

I was experimenting with different auto settings on my camera, "sunset" is now one of my favorites. Especially for Fall pictures. It really beings out the yellows and oranges in a picture!

3. Home

Being home educated, I thought this was the perfect picture for "home." I love doing math with my dad in the evenings. :)

4. Cover

"Cover" almost stumped me. But I thought this one was pretty fitting. The bird has some pretty good camo! I think she's well under "cover."

5. Tree

Me thinks this photo explains itself well enough. ;D I absolutely love this time of year. The colors are so pretty! God is so kind to give us such amazing things to photograph.

Leaf

Some of you are probably thinking, "What's so interesting about a leaf?"

Well, I thought it was super cool. :)

If someone told you to take a picture of a leaf, would you tape it to a piece of paper, prop it up and put it in the perfect sunlight?
I did.
Some people call me weird, but that's okay. :)

^^ My attempt at 'reverse lens macro'. I did not have a 'reverse threaded adapter ring,' I had to hold my second lens backward, up to my camera body. I think this shot turned out all right..

 Upcoming awards and how you can qualify:

"Refer a Friend" award

Refer one friend and receive the bronze award

Refer three friends and receive the silver award

Refer five or more friends and receive the gold award

The qualification is easy. 

I) Be a follower of my blog!

II) Tell your buddies about my blog.

III) Ask them to contact me by commenting (make sure they tell me that you referred them, or else it won't count towards your award.)

IV) Have them follow me by clicking "follow" on the right hand side of the blog and signing in with their google account!

I'll count up the referrals at the end of each month, and the awards for the prior month will be posted at the beginning of each month.

In Print!

If someone had asked me before today, what it's like to have one of my pictures in a book... I'd have said I have absolutely no idea.

Well now I know!! And it's really cool!!

I received an email a while back saying that "one or more of your pictures have been published in this book" from WestKentuckyStar.com. A few months ago we heard on the radio that a certain publication was looking for pictures from the 2011 flood. So I looked up the website and submitted several photos. Viola. I had NO idea some of my pictures would actually be picked to go in the book!!

I was SO surprised this actually turned out. Seriously. I did NOT think I could actually draw a decent  flower with a flashlight. But hey! It worked! :D I was very tickled this turned out as well as it did.
